This August 2014, The Wish will be installed at the 11 day Kingston Arts Festival.
This project is an open invitation for people to connect to the power of nature and tap into their own ability to create and manifest.
The Wish takes us back to our childhood when we would make a wish on a dandelion puff and then blow the puff so that the wind could carry our wish out into the universe to manifest.
The Wish draws on this memory and will see an 8FT x 8FT Dandelion Puff Mandala installed as a sidewalk graphic placed at the top of Wall Street right where it intersects with John Street. The backdrop for the location is a chain-link fence.
Participants will be invite to write their wish(es) on pieces of custom made seed paper, then step into the mandala. They can sit, stand, lay, dance; whatever they desire. They will be guided to meditate on their wish(es) in whatever way they choose and when finished; take their wish-filled seed paper and tie it to the chain link fence.
As the 11 days progress; the fence will become more and more full with wishes, dangling and blowing in the wind. Should it rain, the wishes will be carried away with the rain; if it doesn’t, they will be cut down and planted so that the seeds of wishes can grow. The entire project will be filmed in time lapse photography, including the planting and growing of the seeds.
